In the days following David Bowie's passing, some West Australian musicians began recording versions of his songs to help process the sad news. This became a Soundcloud site called WA Loves David Bowie, offering free downloads of the mostly acoustic cover versions but encouraging site downloaders and listeners to donate whatever they could afford to the local bushfire tragedy early this year in the towns of Yarloop and Waroona.
